Patrick Alford: Missing Brooklyn 7-year-old missing since 2010

UPDATE 1/22/20  – The NYPD Missing Persons Squad is asking for tips via social media in an effort to locate Patrick, who was 7 years old when he went missing around 9 p.m. on Jan. 22, 2010, from Brooklyn.
Patrick Alford disappeared January 22, 2010 while taking out the trash where he lived at the Spring Creek Gardens Apartments at 130 Vandalia Avenue, in New Brighton when he disappeared from the hallway of the building, and has not been seen since. He was 7-years-old.

The foster mother, Librada Moran, told the police that Patrick and her went to the trash compactor outside the New York Spring Creek Development home around 9 p.m. She went back into the apartment and Patrick was not with her. When she goes back out, she couldn’t find him. She tells the police that Patrick had been trying to run away since the day she took him in and that he was trying to get back to his mom.Jennifer Rodriguez.

Since Patrick disappeared, police have conducted more than 14,000 interviews and searched more than 9,000 apartments in and around Spring Creek Gardens, reports the New York Daily News.A $500,000 reward has been offered for information leading authorities to Patrick Alford.  The phone number to call in tips is 646-530-7632.

Nine months after Patrick went missing, Rodriguez sued the city, Moran, the foster care agency and others in Brooklyn federal court, accusing them of negligence.  The city has agreed to use a $6 million settlement to benefit Alford, according to court papers.
