George Delany: Search continues

George DeLany

UPDATe 2011 – In a press release the Monroe County Medical Examiner  positively identified remains found as DeLany.

According to an online article in the Frederick News-Post, the missing student’s father, also named George DeLany, said police told him it appeared his son died of hypothermia.

The remains were found in a wooded area off Campbell Road and Oil Well Hollow Road.

Original Story: This is a reminder to everyone that George DeLany is still missing. George  disappeared on Saturday March 12, 2011 in Wayland (Steuben County), NY.

George is the RIT political science major from Frederick, Maryland who lives off campus with other students in Chili, NY.

The state police went back to where they searched before on March 31, because their dogs alerted in that area, but nothing has been found.

“It was much of the same areas that we searched before.  One of the dogs had had a hit on a previous search, so we went back to the area,” said Mark O’Donnell, State Trooper.

George was reported missing on March 15 by his roommates. Eye witnesses saw George with his car stuck in the mud on a logging road near Ward Road.  Several people offered help but George said no.  His car was towed the next day, and there has been no sign of George, since.
