
“I’m just happy he’s safe and sound and I found my baby. And I thank everybody whoever was praying for me or whatever. I’m just happy I found my baby. God is good,” said Jasmine Chapman, Lazarius’s mother.
Jasmine left Lazarius with his cousin, Lawanda Pritchett, who was to babysit him. She went to a block party
and then let Charletta Hunt borrow the car, even though she knew Lazarius was in the car, sleeping.
According to police, Hunt dropped Lazarius off at her mother’s home in Prichard and he stayed the night. Police confirmed Lazarius was at the home.
Police said the findings of their investigation will be handed over to the district attorney‘s office.
