Sarah Townsend: Missing New Jersey teen found dead

UPDATE:  Sarah Townsend’s body was discovered in a Burlington Township pond.  Police state she committed suicide by drowning and had “significant levels of cocaine in her system,” a medical examiner has determined.  The note was stated to be a suicide note.  The post-mortem examination found there were no signs of trauma and no signs of foul play, the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Sadly, Sarah Townsend has been found dead.

The 18-year-old teen went missing from her New Jersey home on Monday and her car was found by her boyfriend, Matt, still running and her things in the car. She was found in a pond at Green Acres park.

All I got to say about this is, are the police sure the note was not planted?  Is it possible that she had written the note at another time and it just happened to be in the car?  Or maybe the note had been given to someone and they had it on them, and it was planted in the car to cover up the crime?

Also, there may be no indication of a struggle as she could have been unconsciousness and carried to the pond.

Maybe the ME will be able to shed some light on the situation.
