Alyssa Sedletzeck: Missing 12-year-old from Indiana Found

UPDATE: May 3, 2012 – Vigo County Sheriff’s Office confirms Alyssa Sedletzeck was located just after 1 p.m. Thursday at 2929 Fenwood Avenue in Terre Haute.
Alyssa was staying there under a false name and age.  The homeowner called the Sheriff’s Dept. and reported her location after seeing reports through the media.

Police say he is not a suspect in this case, but his 18-year-old son is being questioned.

Previous story:

Alyssa Marie Sedletzeck, 12, is missing from Vigo County.

Alyssa was last seen around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at her home on North Page Street in the Howard Subdivision off U.S. 41 at Hasselburger Road in Indiana.

Initially she was considered a runaway, but because she did not show up at school on Monday, nor have her friends seen her, the status was changed to missing teen.

Her parents noted that on her Facebook page she had been in contact with a 21-year-old man.  Although there is no information pointed that is who she is with.  The man’s identity has not been confirmed.

Alyssa is 5’2″ tall, 105 pounds with long brown straight hair and brown eyes.  She was wearing a dark t-shirt, blue jeans, purple and green flat-billed cap.

  1. She is 12!!! why would it matter if it was runaway or missing. It should be treated the same.

  2. I have a 'just turned' 13 yr old granddaughter, fully developed, extremely beautiful, looks 16,and who posts very similar pictures of herself on FB – her Mom weeded out one guy who was 21 trying to chat with her – but I wish she would quit posting photos on her site! I just sent this article to her father! I wish she would quit using FB entirely – I know it wouldn't solve these kinds of problems, but to quote Cat Stevens “….it's a wild world….” out there and you cannot be too careful
