UPDATE: Police have confirmed that the body found in Edenville Township belongs to Leigh Swanson. Police arrived at a home on Fox when they heard a gunshot as they came to the door. A man came out of the home and told police that his son had shot himself. The deputies later located Leigh’s body across the street from the home in a wooded area.
Previous story: News station WNEM is responsible for getting the information out on this missing woman. She has been missing since Nov. 17, but no one knew until WNEM ran the story. Kudos WNEM.
On Wednesday, the Saginaw Township Police are continuing to search for a missing Michigan woman and are asking for the public’s help to keep a look out for her.
Leigh Swanson, 45, was last seen on Nov. 17, 2012, when she left to go out on a date with a man she had met on an online dating website.
The family called the man she went on a date with to ask him if he had any information, and they said “he was rude and hung up the phone,” reports WNEM news.
“Leigh told me that she had a bad feeling about going on the date…I said, ‘don’t go'” Beverly Kane, Leigh’s mother told WNEM news. “But, when she got there, she called me and said everything was okay.”
Her family also said that Leigh’s Facebook page vanished before she disappeared and that she was a member of MeetMe.com.
The Midland County Sheriff’s office is holding a news conference today and soon as I know more, I will let you know. The only photo of Leigh is the one from MeetMe and hopefully at the news conference they will release more photos.
