Update 3/26/20 – The remains of Paige Johnson have been found.
A woman called 911 and reported that her husband was out deer hunting and found a burned human skull, according to a recording of the call obtained by FOX19.
UPDATE: 1/13/13 – Nothing was found at the old cistern located at 3508 Decoursey Pike. Interestingly the tip the police got was from The Enquirer which was got the tip that said that Paige’s body may have been dumped there.
What they did find was animal remains and the search was called off on Saturday afternoon. The cadaver dogs indicated Friday there might be human remains in the cistern but Convington Police Chief Spike Jones said “that could have been because of methane gas coming from the underground reservoir.”
I have written several stories about Paige Johnson. She has been missing since Sept. 23, 2010, from Kentucky. Please type in her name in the search box above to read all the stories.

Today I heard that there is some digging going on near the area where Paige was last seen in the Covington’s Latonia neighborhood.
Evidently the Convington police received a tip to check a cistern at a property at 35th and Decoursey Avenues. The police were there early in the morning to begin their search. A crew was seen with a snake camera being put into a hole in the backyard. Police dogs were also on the scene.

In the summer of 2012, authorities responded to a tip that Paige Johnson was buried in a shallow grave in Knox County, but no remains were found.
Paige Johnson, a 17-year-old teen that has a 2-year-old daughter was last seen near Scott and 15th street in Convington, Kentucky on September 23, 2010.
The last person to see Paige was Jacob Bumpass, who was 22 at the time, and he said he dropped her off at 15th St. on September 23rd but his cell phone indicates he drove to a park in Ohio.
According to Capt. Teal Nally, “So, as we got the cell phone records, they showed that his cell phone was in the area of East Fork State Park which is about 30 miles away from Covington and these pings from the cell phone occurred around, between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and about 4:30 a.m. So obviously we were concerned about that.” (Records showed Jacob called his brother between 3:00 and 4:30 a.m.)
|Jacob Bumpass has changed some
since Paige disappeared
Jacob Bumpass has been in and out of jail for parole violations since 2010 and on Oct. 12, 2012 he was booked into the Campbell County Detention Center for a parole violation, for a theft conviction for having liquor in his home, but he was released from a Kentucky prison in 2012. He has not spoken with police about the missing persons case since early in the investigation.
Early on when writing on the website I did updates on MPs by creating a new article. I have since changed and only write one article and put the updates as they come in on that one article. Paige’s articles are one of those they spread out through the website and there are many about her on the website.
