Mariah Nichols who is 14 months old was awarded to the state because she is considered endangered and in need of medical attention, but her parents took her before the state could take her into custody.
Damien Nichols and Dusty Ann Willman were visited by a child welfare worker who became concerned about the sores on Mariah’s face. Damien and Dusty were suppose to meet the DHS employee at the hospital but they never showed up. They were last seen on the 500 block of Ridings Avenue in Molalla, Oregon.
Police believe Mariah’s parents are hiding her somewhere, they said.
Damien Nichols’ cousin, told FOX 12 on Friday that Damien took his daughter to the hospital on Sunday because she was running a temperature and teething really bad.
