Ethel Monroe: Senior missing from Yonkers since July 7 FOUND

Police found remains in a wooded area about a quarter-mile north of the park where Ethel was last seen. The remains were on an island that had been under water, and became visible when the rain stopped for a couple of days allowing the water level to go down.

Original story: Ethel Patricia Monroe, 65, has been missing from Yonkers, NY since July 7.  Monroe is a minister.

She has been undergoing cancer treatment and had been disoriented days before she wen missing.  She was seen walking out of her Warburton Avenue house at 4 a.m. on Sunday.

Surveillance tape shows her at the Pizza Pizza on Warburton Avenue around 5:27 a.m.  She has been sighted, although unconfirmed near Hearst Street and Nepperhan Avenue in Yonkers and Elmsford on the Saw Mill River Parkway.  Bloodhounds have also search the wood along South County Trailway.

Ethel does not have her cell phone, eyeglasses, ID or any money.  She was wearing a beige-and-white jacket, white cap and flip-flops.

Ethel is 5’2″ tall, white hair and weighs 170 pounds.
