Jiwon Lee, 29, is missing from New York. Jiwon is a College of Dental Medicine student and she was last seen near her home on 220 West 98th Street on April 1.
Jiwon was last in contact with her brother, Matthew, who is a student at CUMC on Tuesday night over the phone, while she was home.
Police tracked her last cell phone ping to a cell tower on 179th Street.
Last year, Lee served as president of the American Student Dental Association and served as a student representative on the Joint Commission of National Dental Examinations from 2011 to 2014. She has also worked as a production assistant at ABC news, interned for NPR, and worked as a teaching fellow in New York City middle schools for AmeriCorps.
Before that Jiwon was a comedian (see video below). She performed at New York comedy clubs and did her own monthly show, “Jiwon Lee’s Trivial Comedy. Jiwon was a winner of NBC’s 2005 Standup for Diversity, which was a nation-wide search for the top ten comedians.
