Scott Allen: Missing from Oregon Found

UPDATE 8.24.14 – A Lane County Sheriff’s deputy found Allen at a gas station in Veneta which is about 12 miles from Eugene.  A call came in to dispatch of a disoriented man.  Allen told police that he was trying to take a bus to visit a relative’s home in California.

Scott Allen, 51, from Gresham, Oregon has been missing since Aug. 20, 2014.  He is believed to have left Chestnut Lane at the 1200 block of N.E. 6th Street between  8:30 p.m. on Wednesday to 8:30 a.m. on Thursday. Scott resides in an adult care facility.

Scott cannot hear and does not speak, and had a brain injury that left him with short-term memory loss, plus he also suffers from seizures and takes medication for it.  Scott can communicates with sign language but does not read lips.

Scott is 5’10” tall, 175 pounds with brown hair and balding on top and brown and gray beard.  He wears glasses and the is believed to be wearing a green or blue baseball cap and dark blue jeans. 

If you are in the area, please keep a look out for him and call the police at 503-823-3333.   Remember that if you call out to him, he will not hear you, so note his location and call the police and better yet stay with him till the police arrive.

  1. This sounds like a very bad situation. Prayers! He looks like he has been well-taken care of. I know the people at his facility must be devastated.
