

UPDATE: 11/29/14 – Hooton has been located by the Sheriff’s Dept. A friend of Hooton’s said that Hooton had called from a pay phone at a convenience story on Mission Gorge Road in Santee. Based on the info, deputies searched and found Hooton walking near Lake Arrowhead Drive and Lake Murray Blvd around 8;40 a.m.
Hooton said when he got separated from his friend he returned to the car and then decided to walk to the trolley station and go home. He left a message in the dirt next to his friends car and started walking, but he became lost. When he figured out where he was he continued walking home.
Previous story: Jerry Lee Hooton went missing on Friday around 3 p.m. after he did not return from hiking on El Capitan Mountain in Lakeside in San Diego County. Hooton was wearing a gray t-shirt, blue jeans, gray shoes and carrying a yellow backpack. Please call the police if you spot him.
