Whatever happened to a missing Springfield teen has been solved after police find her at the Battlefield Mall on Tuesday.
Kylie Lawrence went missing in July 2013 and was classified as a runaway in Greene County. Although she was listed on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s website no tips came in to her whereabouts until Tuesday when she was recognized by a citizen at the mall and they called the police.
When they arrived they confirmed that it was Kylie Lawrence, but because she was now 18-years-old and legally an adult she was informed she was a missing person and let her go her own way.
The Springfield News Leader reported that Kylie told the police that she didn’t think she was still considered a runaway as she was no longer a minor.
Usually, the police will notify the family when an adult missing person has been located but will abide by the missing persons wishes to not let the family know their location, if they so choose.
