The police state they are opening a cold case from 1982 of a missing teen from Fremont, reports NBC Bay Area news.

Daniel Naylor has not been seen since October 5, 1982 at his home on Nightingale Place, and he was listed as a runaway.  Daniel’s bike was found near the Alameda County Creek trail and strongly about a month later someone came into the home and took all of Daniel’s belongings.

That was 33 years ago and this week police have opened the case after someone told authorities they spotted a man who looks like the age progression photo of Daniel in the area of the Century 14 Movie Theater and Burger King on Iron Point Road.  The police talked to the man and it turned out to not be Daniel.  But after they looked over the case again they went back talk with the family.  The Fremont police stated they noticed inconsistencies in their statements and went back with a search warrant to search the home and to even dig up the backyard.  Daniel would be 47 years old.
