UPDATE 4/24.17 – Preston Taylor pleaded guilty Monday to robbery, conspiracy, disturbing or desecrating human remains, hindering apprehension and tampering with physical evidence, reports ABC7NY.
UPDATE 2/3/17 – Two men have been charged with the murder of missing Sarah Stern from Neptune City, New Jersey. Liam McAtasney, 19, and Preston Taylor, 19, from Neptune City, have been arrested. The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office stated that Sarah was killed during a robbery in her home. McAtasney strangled Stern and Taylor help him get rid of her body. Prosecutors state that she was thrown over the Route 25 Bridge in Belmar. Although there has been searches in the Shark River her body has not been found. New Jersey teen missing; car found near Shark River
Sarah Stern, 19, from Neptune City, NJ, was last seen December 2, 2016 at her home. The 1994 silver Oldsmobile 88 she was driving was found on Dec. 3., near the Rt. 35 bridge in Belmar with the keys in the ignition.
A water search was done as there was a theory she may have jumped from the bridge, but nothing was found.
There is a $5,000 reward for information leading to her whereabouts.
Stern is 5’6″ and weighs about 130 lbs. She has a medium complexion, long dark brown hair that hangs past her shoulders and hazel eyes.
