Help Find Christopher “Critter” Teel Missing since January 2017
A mother in Jay, Oklahoma is pleading for help to find her 32-year-old son, Christopher “Critter” Teel. On January 1, 2017, Chris went to stay the night with his aunt, Kim Lashbrook. The next evening he stepped outside of the City Park Apartments in Jay, Oklahoma to smoke a cigarette. He was planning on staying at his aunts until the next day when his mother was supposed to pick him up for a meeting that was important to him. However, around 11 p.m. a witness saw him get into a dark four-door car and leave the apartment complex.
His sister said, “A witness has said they ” believed” they saw Chris get into a dark 4 door car of some kind but, isn’t really sure because it was dark outside. That was the last time he has been seen or heard from.”
When Christopher left, he left with just the clothes on his back. His hat and coat were still sitting inside. It was cold that night and his family said that if he knew he was leaving and not coming back he would have at least taken those two items. According to the Grand Lake News, Christopher’s aunt, Amy Teel said her nephew had returned from prison after a 6 year stay on December 19th and was having a hard time readjusting. But his family says his disappearance is unusual. According to his family, Teel has a 9-year-old daughter whom he adores. He would never have just left her. In the past he has left for a day, maybe two, but he always kept in contact with his family and let them know where he was.
His family just wants to know that he is safe somewhere. They have asked for prayer, put up missing persons fliers, made numerous post on Facebook, and contacted several news agencies, all in hopes that someone will recognize him and let the family know he is safe. They have had a few leads but none of them turned out to be Christopher.
Christopher is 6’2, 170 lbs. He has brown hair, brown eyes, and tattoos on both arms, legs, torso and both sides of his neck, as well as a tattoo on one hand that says Jesse, a tattoo on the other hand that says Makayla and a tattoo on the right side of his neck that says Rainy (see photo).
Those who know Christopher would like everyone to understand he is so much more than just a basic description on a missing persons photo or news article. He is a loving son, grandson, father, brother and nephew. He is a devoted and cherished friend. Photos of a smiling Christopher with his family can be found on his mothers Facebook, but no smiles are brighter than those of Christopher and his daughter as he holds her and lovingly beams at her with pride.
Christopher’s mother, Tracy Bishop wants her son to know, “I pretend to be strong, the daily struggle is stressing my mind, my health, and my heart is broken with worry for you, my son Christopher. On the outside I smile for all to see but on the inside I am broken with fear.”
Please help bring the smiling faces back to this family and peace to his mother’s heart.
If you have any information on Teel’s disappearance, or have seen him, his family is asking that you contact the Jay Police Department at 918-253-4277, Tracy Bishop at 918-253-7134, or Amy Teel at 918-837-2572.
