October 2, 2018 – Matthew Carrington is still missing.
March 3, 2017 – April Joy Carrington, 34, was booked back into the Jefferson County Jail. She is charged with two counts of failure to appear in court which were issued Thursday, and was also sought on a fugitive from justice warrant out of Maryland. A warrant was issued to Carrington for taking Matthew out of the state.
February 28, 2017 – Matthew’s mother, April Carrington shot at the boy’s father when he drove to Birmingham to look for his son, after there were sightings of him there. Matthew attempted to talk with April and she pulled out a gun and shot him. Carrington was charged with attempted murder and was released from jail Monday night.
Matthew Carrington, 4, has been missing from Severn, Maryland since Oct. 1, 2016. The FBI has reported that he was spotted in Birmingham, Alabama last weekend. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reports Carrington was previously seen in Birmingham Alabama, on October 15, 2016, two weeks after he first went missing.
“It is believed that he is traveling with suspects who should be considered armed and dangerous,” according to the FBI.
Matthew is 4-years-old, 3 feet tall, weighs about 30 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
If anyone knows of Matthew’s whereabouts, they are cautioned not to approach those with him but to instead call 911 immediately or the Birmingham FBI at 205-326-6166.
