April 23, 2018 – Police located the body of missing An Nguyen at 4381 Whistling Pines Drive, according to the medical examiner’s office. Using DNA comparisons, scientists identified the remains found there as Nguyen on June 27, 2018. He died by homicidal violence.
Jerrett Jamal Allen was charged with debit or credit card fraud for allegedly using Nguyen’s cards in El Paso in April.
UPDATE 8/7/17 – Harris County investigators have named two suspects in the murder of a Houston nurse and the disappearance of a University of Houston student. Brandon Lyons has been arrested for the death of Glenser Soliman, 44, whose body was found in the woods over a week later, after going missing on Feb. 18. His car was found at the apartment complex that Brandon Lyons and Jerret Allen both lived. Police stated that Brandon Lyons and Jerret Allen were living together at the time of both men’s disappearances. Authorities are now stating that they have linked the case of Soliman and still missing Nguyen as being connected. They are stating that Brandon Lyons and his cousin Jerret Allen used social media to lure the men to come to them. Allen was charged with credit card abuse in Nguyen’s disappearance, but he is on the run and has not been located. His last known location was El Paso.
Brandon Lyons was arrested April 11 and charged with unauthorized use of motor vehicle in connection with the case.
Original Story: An Vinh Nguyen, 27, a University of Houston student was last seen in northwest Harris County, Texas on March 31st 2017, leaving a friend’s at the Golden Bamboo II Apartments at 8125 Mills Road in the Willowbrook area in his 2016 Jeep Renegade. Nguyen did not show up for work on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Ella Eye’s in Tomball, Texas.
“He came to my apartment on Friday night to work on something for school. He made us fish tacos. He left my home about 10:30 to work on that paper,” Bobby Johnson, An Vinh’s friend told ABC News 13. “I have a lot of anxiety about this whole situation. An Vinh is not somebody I work with. He is somebody I care about.”
An Vinh had booked a flight to Fort Lauderdale for an interview for a flight attendant job with Spirit Airlines.
On April 16, the police stated that his car has been found, but are not saying where.
Nguyen is 5′ 6″ tall and 140 pounds with brown hair. He was last seen wearing a light yellow T-shirt.
