Laura Huynh, a forensic scientist with the Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) has sent me a poster to remind everyone about New York City Missing Persons Day on May 20th. That’s this weekend coming up.
“New York City Missing Persons Day offers support and services to families coping with the experience of long-term missing loved ones, where thousands of people are reported missing from our city every year. Attendees may provide information, such as personal histories or DNA samples to our Missing Persons Identification team, to help find family members, including missing persons located outside New York City, thanks to our ability to share information nationwide. Our partners in this effort include the NYPD Missing Persons Unit, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, American Red Cross, and many others. The event is free and open to all.”
Don’t forget to forward this to friends and family in New York. You can also find out more about the event by clicking here.
