Police seek man who attempted to abduct a child in Austin (video)

Officers say a man approached a 7-year-old girl playing outside at the Booker T. Washington housing complex in Austin, Texas, and told her he would give her some money if she helped him find his lost brown dog.  As the girl walked with him, he forced her into his vehicle.  The child was able to escape, but no other info was provided.

The incident happened on Sept. 19, 2017 and the police have released a video on Oct. 9.

The man is described as White or Hispanic Male, with a muscular build and 5′ 5″ to 5’8″ with short black hair with a bald spot and tattoos on his upper arm. He was seen wearing a white t-shirt, dark blue jean shorts, basketball shoes. He was driving a white Mercury Marquis with four doors with unknown license plate, with a “trashy” interior.

The police also reported there was another incident on Sept. 27  around 8 a.m. of an attempted kidnapping in the 8200 block of Georgie Trace Avenue in southeast Austin.
