Corinna Slugger may be victim of sex trafficking

Nov 2, 2018

According to a press released, on Wednesday, Ishi Woney, 23, of New York City, was arrested and charged with sex trafficking by means of force, threats, fraud and coercion, as well as use of an interstate facility to promote, manage, and carry on prostitution.

Woney is accused of engaging in sex trafficking with a person known as Victim 1 in the press released.  Although Victim 1 is not identified, the presser states that Woney posted online sex ads showing Corinna Slusser and Victime 1.

“As alleged, Ishi Woney engaged in a vile form of exploitation, using force and other coercion to compel young women to engage in paid sex for his enrichment. We will continue to work with the FBI and NYPD to protect prospective victims of human trafficking and arrest and prosecute their predators,” U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman said.

The whereabouts of Corinna Slusser is still unknown.

UPDATE 12/7/17

New information has come out regarding this case.  The Daily News is reporting that a copy of an order of protection for Corinna against a friend who became her pimp was mailed to her mother’s Pennsylvania home.

“This letter of protection was granted against somebody she was living with. It went to her mom’s house,” said one relative, who asked not to be named. “We didn’t know what to think.”

The letter said according to the Daily News that the man was to stay away from Corinna after he was arrested on Aug. 25 for choking her at a hotel in Sugar Hill. According to the relative, Corinna’s mom called Corinna to ask her about it and she said that Corinna shrugged it off and said it wasn’t a big deal.

Original story

Corinna Slusser, 19, from Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania has been missing since September 20, 2017.  Corinna was last seen at the Haven Motel on Woodhaven Blvd. in Rego Park.

Her family tracked her from Pennsylvania to the Bronx when they saw an Instagram post showing her there, the police stated, reports the NYPost.  She filed an emergency protection from abuse while living in New York with a man. She is a very active social media user and has not posted since her disappearance.

Now the NYPD believed she may be trapped in a prostitution ring and they are searching for her.

Slusser has blonde hair, blue eyes, stands about 5 feet 6 and weighs approximately 140 pounds.

She has a large black flower-type tattoo in the middle of her chest, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS [8477].

Since you’re here

I have a small favor to ask. More people are reading Missing Persons of America than ever and asking for their family member to be shared. I do it because I believe that every single missing person matters, and they all need equal attention. It can’t be done any quicker, and with less boundaries than social media. Last year, I was bombarded daily with more and more cases to share.  I found myself falling behind as I work 10 hours a day to feature missing people. Also, the network has grown so large that we are in need of an internet host that can serve the growth, so the website does not go down. Many don’t realize that Missing Persons of America independent, investigative posting takes a lot of time and hard work to produce. Frankly, I need funds. If everyone who reads this website, who likes it, can help, our future would be much more secure. For as little as $1, you can support Missing Persons of America and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
