Teen Thomas Kolding missing from New Jersey; seen at train station FOUND

Nov. 13, 2018 – A New Jersey teen who has been missing since Halloween was found in Philadelphia.  He was living in a tent in Southwest Philly.

Thomas Kolding, 15, is missing from Mountain Lakes, New Jersey.  He was last seen October 30, 2018.  He left after getting in an argument about his grades with his parents.  He left his cell phone and took his savings of $1,000.   He also left behind two notes.  His father said they did find a handwritten note addressed to them, and another message for a friend.

The authorities have pieced together Kolding’s travels.  He appears to have ridden his bike to the nearby town of Denville, located about three miles away from Mountain Lakes, then got on a train in Denville. Officers confirmed that Kolding rode the train to Broad Station in Newark. He was spotted on video at the Walter Rand Train Station in Camden, New Jersey on Saturday, November 3. The train would have taken him to Manhattan, but no video spotted him there to confirm that.

Kolding’s internet search history shows he had been researching California. The only family member in California is Kolding’s cousin who is going to college in Santa Barbara.  The cousin stated he has not spoken to Thomas.

Nicolai Kolding posted on  Facebook:

“He walks with a purpose – not strangely fast, but just someone who is going somewhere. He doesn’t usually chew gum but his candy vice is Jolly Ranchers. If anyone sees him (especially those unfamiliar to him), think of him and talk to him like a 25 year-old not a 15 year-old. I know that probably seems strange given all that’s going on but my point is that he can be too bright for his own good and really can’t stand being talked down to. Just please tell Thomas that his mom, his dad, his brothers, his friends and extended family, and more people than he can possibly imagine love and admire him. We miss him and want him to come home now.”

Holding is 5’3″ tall, and weighs between 100 and 115 pounds. The teen was wearing an orange and black striped hooded sweatshirt, a camouflage jackets with dark pants, and carrying a blue Adidas backpack.  He may or may not be wearing the same clothing.

Since you’re here

I have a small favor to ask. More people are reading Missing Persons of America than ever and asking for their family member to be shared. I do it because I believe that every single missing person matters, and they all need equal attention. It can’t be done any quicker, and with less boundaries than social media. Last year, I was bombarded daily with more and more cases to share.  I found myself falling behind as I work 10 hours a day to feature missing people. Also, the network has grown so large that we are in need of an internet host that can serve the growth, so the website does not go down. Many don’t realize that Missing Persons of America independent, investigative posting takes a lot of time and hard work to produce. Frankly, I need funds. If everyone who reads this website, who likes it, can help, our future would be much more secure. For as little as $1, you can support Missing Persons of America and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
