Police dig for missing Virginia woman in North Carolina

Sarah Hill, 33, has been missing from Ararat, Virginia since June 6, 2018. Yesterday the authorities stated they have brought in heavy equipment to dig for her on King Park Circle in Mount Airy, North Carolina. No information as to why they are looking in that area.

The Surry County Sheriff’s Office, Patrick County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Carolina SBI said they were looking for any signs that could help them find Sarah.

Sarah was last heard from by her sister, April Hill Cain, a registered nurse at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. April told Mount Airy news that Sarah had called asking for a ride, and said she was on Blue Hollow Road, and her phone was “going to die.” April was not able to leave her job and Sarah has not been heard from since.

Sarah Hill has blue eyes and red hair, 5-foot, 10-inches and weighing 135 pounds. She has pierced ears, a scorpion tattoo around her belly button, a rose tattoo inside her left thigh and a butterfly tattoo on her shoulder, according to the AWARE Foundation of Virginia.

Sarah’s disappearance is one of several missing person investigations happening in Surry County.
