The Indiana State Police announce they will be heading in a “new direction” with the investigation of the murders of Abigail Williams and Liberty German. Williams and German were found murdered on a hiking trail on February 2017 in Delphi, Indiana.

The police conference today released a new sketch, longer audio and a video of the man walking over the bridge.

Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter said the male suspect is believed to live in Delphi or frequent the town.

“We believe you are hiding in plain sight,” Carter said, at a press conference.

Police are also seeking information about the owner of a vehicle that was found abandoned on February 13, 2017, at the former CPS DCS welfare building off of 300 North.

Libby German was able to take a photo and recorded the man’s voice. The photo was blurry, but the FBI was able to create a sketch that has been circulated widely (see below). Now the new sketch shows a younger looking man with no hat, the police state the man could be between 18 and 40.

The long standing description was stated as a white male between 5’10” tall, 180 to 200 pounds with reddish brown hair. He was wearing a blue jack, blue jeans and a hat. The recording of his voice has the man saying, ‘Down the hill.”

Although there has been a few people the police have questioned, nothing has come from it. The police have interviewed over 1,000 people and have received over 38,000 tips but the murderer is still out there.

On Friday, Charles Eldridge, 48, who was arrested in January and received five additional charges. The Daily Mail is stating that Eldridge admitted to the police that he had multiple sexual encounters with children under the age of 13. They also point out that just after he was charged, the Indiana State Police made the announcement there had been a significant development in the investigation. Charles Eldridge has been brought up before by social media because of the likeness of his mugshot to the Delphi sketch. You can read more about him here. Now with the new sketch, Eldridge no longer looks like him.

If you have any information regarding his case, please call the Delphi Homicide Investigation at 844-459-5786 or leave a tip with me and I will make sure the police receive it.
