Amber Alert for kidnapped child from Houston FOUND

June 3, 2019 –  Forensic authorities formally identified the child’s remains found in a trash bag off the side of a road in Fulton, Ark, as Maleah Davis. Evidently Derion told Quanell X where it was and he informed the police. The cause of death has not been determined at this writing.

UPDATE May 13, 2019 –

Derion Vence was arrested on charges of tampering with evidence.

Police have compiled the following information:

_ surveillance footage has revealed that the car which Vence said was stolen, was actually used to drop him off at a hospital.

_ cadaver dogs have picked up the missing child’s sent within the trunk of the vehicle.

_ blood found in Vence’s apartment, match the DNA taken from Maleah David‘s toothbrush.

_ surveillance footage from a neighbor across from Vence shows that both he and the child entered his apartment on May 3. Vence is seen exiting and leaving the apartment several times with a large laundry basket… Meleah is never seen leaving the apartment.

UPDATE 5/7/19 – We are now hearing that in August 2018, Maleah suffered a head injury and her brothers and her were placed with a relative, said CPS. They were returned home in February after a judge order. COS was to visit the home every month to check up on the kids.

UPDATE MAY 6, 2019 – Sgt. Mark Holbrook of the Houston Police Dept. said that Derion Vence, 26, Maleah’s step father stated they were on their way to way to George Bush Intercontinental Airport Friday night to pick up Maleah’s mother, Brittany, who was flying in from Massachusetts. Vence said he heard a “popping noise,” like a popped tire, and pulled over to check on it, reports CNN. That’s when a blue pickup truck pulled up behind the vehicle and two Hispanic males got out, Vence told police. One purportedly made a comment that “Maleah looks very nice, looks very sweet,” Holbrook said.

The other man hit Vence in the head and he lost consciousness, he told police. He stated he was unconscious for 24 hours and he was in the back of the truck with his children. He continues to go in and out of consciousness. He wakes up on Highway 6 and he has his son with him and tries to get help but eventually makes his way to the Sugar Land hospital in the evening, says Holbrook.

Original Story: Maleah Davis, 5, is missing from Texas after she was kidnapped by three men.

Maleah’s father told authorities that he and his two children were abducted from north Houston by three Hispanic men on Friday, May 3, 2019. The following evening he and his son were dropped off in Sugar Land but they kept his daughter, Maleah, reports ABC news. Maleah was reported to have last been seen on the 16500 block of the Southwest Freeway on Saturday.

They were driving a blue 2010 Chevrolet crew cab pickup.

Maleah is about 3 feet tall and weighing 30 to 40 pounds. was wearing a pink bow in her hair, a light blue zip jacket and gray/white/pink sneakers.

I know many will have more questions regarding this story, but that is all there is at this time. It is likely, or probably the police know a lot more and have decided to only share the above information.

Many on social media are guessing that the story may have to do with drugs or human trafficking.

Anyone with information on Maleah’s whereabouts is urged to contact HPD Homicide at 713-308-3600
