Heather Anne Lacey, 35, who had been missing since 2013 has been found deceased. She was found inside a freezer delivered to the owner of a scrap business.
Lilian Argueta, the owner of the Margate, Florida business, tells Sun Sentinel that on March 15, 2019, she opened the freezer and found Lacey’s body inside. The freezer had previously been at an apartment in the 1500 block of Polk Avenue in Hollywood, Florida, where Jonathan Escarzaga, 36, was found dead on February 17, 2019.
The freezer ended up at the scrap business when the landlord, while preparing the apartment for a new tenant after Escarzaga died, had the appliances removed and sent to Lilian’s scrap business.
Authorities have not said if the two cases are connected or if Escarzaga had anything to do with Heather’s death, let alone even knew her.
Heather was reported missing in December 2013. Her father, Randell Lacey, told the police that his daughter was living on the streets and was bipolar, and had not been in contact with them, as she previously had been.
