UPDATE 5/17/19 – The body of Riley Crossman has been found. She was found near a road in Berkeley County by officers from the Division of Natural Resources. Andy J. McCauley Jr., 41, who was Riley’s mother’s boyfriend was taken into custody and charged with murder.
UPDATE 5/16/19 – The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office stated they are using adult volunteers to search for Riley Crossman. You can contact them if you would like to help with the search.
Riley Crossman, 15, is missing from West Virginia. She was last seen at home in Berkeley Springs near Route 522 and Greenway Drive on Tuesday. She did not come home from school on May 8, 2019.
One of the last communication she made was to her boyfriend via FaceTime. They spoke till 10:30 p.m. Another friend said she was texting Riley until midnight that night. Phone records show that Riley’s phone tried to video call her boyfriend around 5:40 a.m., on Wednesday but he was asleep and didn’t answer.
Riley’s mom Chantel went her room around 7:15 a.m. but Riley was not there, reports NBC News and Chantel thought she had already gone to school, especially since they had a field trip to go on that day.
Authorities state that Riley never made it to school at Berkeley Springs High School on Wednesday. The family received a call from the school that she had been absent that day.
Chantel tried to call Riley but it goes to voicemail.
Riley is 5-feet-6 and 125 pounds with blonde hair, blue eyes and a scar on the center of her forehead. She was last seen wearing a black hoodie and black leggings, and she may be wearing glasses.
Volunteers who would like to help search can meet the authorities near the Office of Emergency Services in the old War Memorial Hospital parking lot in Berkeley Springs.
