UPDATE June 27, 2019 – The Salt Lake Police are searching a home in Fairpark after obtaining a search warrant. A helicopter showed the police digging holes in the backyard at a home at 547 N. 1000 West. Chief Mike Brown said investigators have also identified the homeowner as a “person of interest” in the case, but declined to identify him. There has been no word if they found a person but they did find some items that they have not disclosed, although other media is stating they took gardening tools. Fox News reports that neighbors of the person of interest claimed the person recently was burning something that left off a “strong stench.”

Update – More details surrounding the case: Evidently, we are now finding out that Mackenzie met someone at a park, located about 20 minutes from Mackenzie’s apartment. “The Lyft driver who took Mackenzie Lueck from the airport and dropped her off at a park in a Salt Lake City suburb on June 17 told detectives the woman didn’t seem in any distress when she met the person,’ said Salt Lake City assistant police chief Tim Doubt,” reports the Mercury News . Police are not saying whether it was a man or woman and they are still searching for that person, too.

Mackenzie Lueck, 23, is missing from Utah since Monday, June 17, 2019. She was last seen at the University of Utah where she is a student studying kinesiology (the study of body movement). She texted her parents at about 1 a.m. to let them know she had arrived at the Salt Lake City airport.

Mackenzie is believed to have taken Lyft from the airport and Lyft stated that Lueck’s route “contained no irregularities and ended at the destination entered by the rider,” reports Fox 13. It was reported the driver continued to give rides immediately after her ride ended.

Why would Mackenzie notify her family she had arrived at the airport to just disappear? What happened after she was dropped off and on the way to her home?

Mackenzie has not showed up for school nor work at the Millcreek medical lab.

Mackenzie is described as 5’6” tall and 120 pounds. She has medium length, blonde hair and brown eyes.
