Kimberly Avila went missing from the downtown area of Brownsville, Texas on May 13, 2017. There has been no communication from her since.
In 2018, an anonymous tip came in to the Brownsville Crimestoppers and the family is asking for that person to please call back. The family is hoping that someone will come forward with information or give crimestoppers an anonymous tip.
“You had a reason to call that day. You had a reason to call and give the information that you gave or you think that you might have missed something or you think that there’s something that you maybe didn’t say,” Ivon Rodarte, Kimberly’s brother told the Monitor. “I’m begging you to call back.”
Family member and Crimestoppers have used both pronouns to describe Kimberly as shown below. MPofA has chosen to use her/she pronouns as that is how her community knew her and we feel that’s likely how she herself would want to be known.
