Cause of Death released: According to the presser, Faye’s death, “did not occur at location and her body had been at that location a short time.”
“We have concluded that Faye’s death was a homicide and took only a few hours after her abduction. It has been ruled an afficiation.”
The item found in the trash can was a polka-dot boot and a ladle with dirt on it.
The police chief stated that Taylor is the only perpetrator. No one else was involved with Faye’s death. Taylor’s roommate was not at the residence while the event happened. The police did search Taylor’s home, but nothing was not found at the house when they searched.
UPDATE 2/14/20 – Law Enforcement had another presser this morning and stated that while they were emptying the trash cans yesterday during their search they ran across a “critical item of evidence, related to their investigation…” (My theory is that the item was likely clothing, maybe her boots, or shirt.) Based on the discovery they narrowed down an area, that they needed to go back to. Although they had been to the area multiple times, they went back to that area, and located Faye’s body. Based on their investigation and based on the preliminary investigation they believe that Faye had not been in that location for very long at all. Then just moments after locating Faye, they located a deceased male at 602 Picadilly Square. The individual was named as Coty Scott Taylor, 30, who lived on 602 Picadilly Square. An autopsy will be on Saturday along with Faye’s.
The male body was identified as Coty Taylor and the evidence collected linked Faye and Coty, together. How they are linked will not be disclosed at this time. “He was a neighbor, not a relative and not a friend, merely a neighbor,” said Sgt. Antley.
Faye’s body was found in a wooded area between her residence and the Napa Auto Parts. Looking at the map below you can see the location and the residence of Coty. Londonderry Ln. where Faye lived is just below that. The body of Coty was located at his residence. Coty has no known criminal history. The police had talked with Coty earlier in the investigation, and had been at the house.
Because of the open investigation, the evidence found in the trash can will not be disclosed at this time. The police want to make sure there is no one else involved in the abduction of Faye.
UPDATE 2/13/20 – The body of Faye Swetlik has been found in a wooded area in Churchill Heights. A man’s body was also found. He has not been identified at this time.
UPDATE 2/13/2- at 10:45 a.m. The police have gone to a specific area which looks like a wooded area near the neighborhood where Faye Swetlik went missing. I will update as soon as I know more.
UPDATE: 2/13/20 – PIO Antley held a presser this morning. The media was interested in the two vehicles that were towed. Antley stated that the “occupants” of the SUV” were found and the police have talked with them. He stated it was from the help of the public that helped with this lead. He also stated that the police is still looking for the occupants of the sedan that was towed an if you know who that is to call 803-205-4444. One individual asked why the parents have not addressed the public, and Antley stated he couldn’t speak for them, but they had been cooperative. Antley ended with every door and every person living in the Churchill Heights development has been talked with and they will leave “no stone unturned” in their search for Faye Swetlik.
Faye Swetlik, 6, is missing from South Carolina. She was last seen in Churchill Heights in Cayce on Monday, Feb. 10, 2020.
The family told police Faye Swetlik rode the bus home from Springdale Elementary School to her regular stop, and then walked home with her mom. An Amber Alert has not been issued because it does not meet the criteria, but Sgt. Antley added that they are doing all they can to find Faye.
The police have been knocking on doors and are asking about any surveillance video they may have, so it can be looked at to see if Faye is seen on the camera.
Shante Sumpter, a reporter, reported from the Shell gas station Tuesday morning. that the police were stopping every car leaving the neighborhood on Stratford Road and asking a series of questions.
Another reporter with WIS TV stated they spoke with a mother who was at the bus stop that Faye was at on Monday, and said that Faye’s mother was there waiting for her, like she did everyday.
Faye has strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. She was wearing polka dot boots and a black t-shirt.
