The police received a tip and found Olivia’s body not far from 34th Street and Steele Road near a trail.
The Wyandotte County District Attorney announced formal charges against Olivia’s father, Howard Jansen and Jacqulyn Kirkpatrick, Jansen’s girlfriend.
Jansen has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated child endangerment and criminal desecration. Kirkpatrick faces the same charges.

Olivia Jansen, 3, is missing from Kansas City, Kan. The authorities issued an Amber Alert on Friday, July 10, 2020 for her.
Olivia’s dad, Howard stated he work up around 6:30 am. (note during the police interview they said 5:30 a.m.) and found that Olivia was not there and the back door was wide open to their home located at 4444 Gibbs Road, Kansas City, KS. He also stated he last saw her at 11 p.m. the night before, when he went to bed.
Police stated he walked into the police station, although another report stated he called to report Olivia missing around 8:30 a.m.
During an interview the Police stated that there was no one else at the home and it was only Olivia and her dad in the home.
The authorities are searching the area near the Gibbs Road home, as well as an area to the north, with ATVs, drones and K-9s.
Olivia Jansen was described as white with brown hair and blue green eyes. She is approximately 3′ t tall and weighs 50 pounds, and she was last seen wearing pajamas with a pink top and purple or teal bottom. Her hair was in a ponytail.
