UPDATE; 8/1/20 -The remains of Christopher Branham have been found.
Original Story: Christopher Branham, 26, from Round Rock, Texas, went missing on June 24 between 7 and 9 a.m. He was seen at the Red Roof Inn and 1990 N IH 35 and I-Hop in Round Rock off Chisolm Trail. He also was known to be a passenger in a white Toyota 4-runner and spotted inside the 4Runner driving along 290 between Manor and Elgin at the time. They say none of his friends own a car like that, and they believe he’s still somewhere along U.S. Highway 290.
“Particularly in Manor and Elgin, that stretch of road out there. We believe he’s in danger or worse,” said Jim Branham.
So, I went down 290 looking for anything unusual and trying to think just where Christopher might have gone. The only thing is that 290 from Manor to Elgin is 12 miles long that takes about 20 minutes depending on traffic, and there are many side roads the whole way.
Here is what we saw along the way.
I reached out to Conny, Christopher’s mother and we narrowed it down to an area near some corn fields. This is what we saw there.
The biggest unknown is where the white Toyota Runner traveled to and there is hope someone saw the truck or someone caught it on a home video camera.
His mom, Conny posted on social media, “Please continue to think, and think outside Round Rock as well. 2 hours is a big timeframe. Please think back whether you saw something odd or unusual on your way to work, on the side of a road, field, or parking lot, in that timeframe, involving a white SUV. Please think surrounding towns and beyond. It was day light, so we think somebody saw something, somewhere that may have seemed insignificant at the time. RRPD is working leads, including anonymous ones. Please help us find our son, and help us remove criminals from this community. Thank you! 💔”
Then on July 20, she posted with more updated information:
“We now have a more accurate area and a narrower timeframe for Christopher’s disappearance. The area to focus on is HWY 290 between MANOR and ELGIN. Christopher disappeared there on Wednesday, June 24 between 7:30 and 8:00 AM. Please be so kind to share/forward to anyone you know that lives in this area, or travels that road that time of day. It’s a busy road, so we hope that somebody saw something that involved the white Toyota 4-Runner. Hoping for security or dash cam video… Please ask them to post on NextDoor or other neighborhood apps in Manor/Elgin as well. Thank you so much for helping us find Christopher.”
