UPDATE: Jackson County Sheriff David Lucas has confirmed they have found the body of 25-year-old Sydney Sutherland.
UPDATE:L. Quake Lewellen, 28, from Jonesboro, AR and has been charged with Capital Murder. Sheriff Lucas said the man was a farmer but won’t talk about the rumor that Lewellen had hit her. He only stated that Sydney’s body was “found north of the residence.” The Sheriff said during a press conference that he knew the man, but not personally. There is speculation on social media that Lewellen confessed to hitting Sydney with his car and he panicked, but nothing official from the authorities, at this writing.
Original Story: Sydney Claire Sutherland, 25, is missing from Grubbs, Arkansas. She was last seen leaving her home for a jog in the area of State Highway 18 between Newport and Grubbs, around 3 p.m. on August 19, 2020.
There was rumors on social media of a car with Texas plates, but the Jackson County Sheriff’s department states they are not true, but Sheriff David Lucas confirmed that a UPS driver notified them this morning, that he did see Sutherland Wednesday afternoon near County Road 41.
Lucas also said with the phone pings they are concentrating on that area, saying Sutherland normally walked a loop in that area between County Road 41, 42, 43, and Highway 18.
The cell phone was found a ¼ mile from her home on Highway 67. The Sheriff said he doesn’t believe that Sydney was hit [by a car] because the phone was functioning. The phone was tossed on the over pass into tall grass. Att pinged it which led to it being found.
Sydney does have her iWatch but at this point they are trying to find where her watch was last, before it died.
They are few house the ones who have deer cams and home cameras don’t have any thing of her
I went looking at a map and I couldn’t find CR 41, but found CR 42 and 43 and Hwy 18 and 67.
They are few house with home cameras in that area. And there is likely hunting cameras that may have caught something.
A post on social media stated they trained her that morning and she was wearing tank top- black and white tie dye sports bra- and black shorts and PINK Hoka tennis shoes.
