Pittsburgh man missing; car found with key still in it FOUND

The body of Thomas Hughes was recovered from the Ohio River in Monaca on April 15, 2021.

Original Story: Thomas Hughes, 25, of Pittsburgh was last seen at around 11 p.m. on January 24, 2021, when he was leaving his parents’ house in Beechview.

When he didn’t come home, his family went to look for him and found his silver volkswagon Routan license plate KXP-3440 at the Three Rivers Heritage Trail.

“She was right there and seen it. She said, ‘Oh my god. That’s the van.’ Pulled over. And the key was in the ignition, but my brother is nowhere to be found. His phone has been dead since 7 or 8 this morning,” said Thomas Hughes’ sister Alexis Hughes.

The police blocked off part of 18th Street while they searched the van and the area. But, so far Thomas has not been found.

Hughes is 6 feet, 1 inch tall, 260 lbs. with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, dark blue jeans, black boots and a black Carhartt jacket.

Police ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts call the Special Victims Unit at 412-323-7141.
