Body found in Black Forest identified

A few days ago, I posted about a body found in Black Forest, Colorado and the police have identified it as Jamie Essig, 30.

Jamie had been reported missing on April 14 from Fountain, after she missed an appointment.  She was last seen on March 23 at a friend’s home on Candlestar Loop North in Fountain.

At this time the medical examiner has not determined the cause of death, but police have considered her death suspicious.

Jamie was described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, (which was several inches taller than the remains were said to be) 150 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes.

Back in April a tip was called in where someone thought they had run into Jamie as she walked out in front of their car. Jamie had came out of a field that was private property.  She had a backpack and purse with her.

If you have any information about Jamie Essig’s disappearance, please call the El Paso County Sheriffs Office at 719-390-5555.
