UPDATE: Oct 4, 2012 – A foot with a section of lower leg attached that washed ashore on March 25 has been identified by the San Mateo County Coroner’s office as belonging to Joseph.

Because McHenry could survive without a foot and leg, Foucrault said, the coroner’s office can’t officially declare him dead. His family is currently seeking a court order for a death certificate, Foucrault said, reports the San Francisco Chronical.

Joseph McHenry, 27, from San Bruno, California was last seen at home on March 2.  He told friends that he was going rock climbing and camping at Pacifica Beach.

His car was found on Wednesday near the Sharp Park Golf Course in Pacifica, but there was no sign of Joseph.

Searchers are combing the area near the golf course and Mori Point.  The searchers have found items on Thursday that they believe belong to Joseph.

If you have any information about his whereabouts, please call the San Bruno Poice Dept. at 650-616-7100.
