Saavni Venna: Amber Alert for missing 10-month-old girl Found

UDPATE:  Oct. 27 2012 –An Affidavit said that
Raghunandan “Raghu” Yandamuri, 26,  tried to 
kidnap Saanvi for a $50,000 ransom.  When Saanvi’s grandmother opened the door Yandamuri was armed with a kitchen knife, authorities said. She retreated to the kitchen, while he picked up the baby from the couch, the affidavit said.

During a struggle, Yandamuri dropped baby Saanvi Venna as he tried to hold her and a kitchen knife and was fighting with Saanvi’s grandmother.

Satyavathi Venna, 61, Saanvi’s grandmother was fatally stabbed and suffered defensive wounds. The suspect told police he put a handkerchief in the baby’s mouth to quiet her, then wrapped a towel around her head and put her in a suitcase when he left the sixth-floor apartment, according to the affidavit. She was later found in a basement sauna bathroom in a bloody white dress.

UPDATE:  Oct. 26, 2012 – Police  say that baby Saanvi Venna was found dead in the family’s apartment complex, the Marquis Apartments, on the 200 block of West Dekalb Pike.

They also confirm that they have a person of interest in custody. 

Saavni went missing after her grandmother who was taken care of her was killed, by an unknown person.
