Anna Kroup: Missing from Waterford Found

UPDATE: Workers at the Green Island hydroelectric plant found the body of Anna Kroup, Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple said.

Kroup’s body were cleaning out a portion of the river at the plant when they found her.  Police ID’s her by her tattoos.  She was located about 4 miles from her home.

An autopsy will be conducted Tuesday morning at Albany Medical Center Hospital.

No foul play is suspected.

Anna Kroup, 24, from Waterford, New York was last seen at her home on Second Street around midnight on Monday, February 25. Kroup is a lead singer in a group called the Pop Junkies and has done theater productions.

She left a note before she went missing, but no one has been able to locate her.

Kroup is 5-feet 4-inches and about 115 pounds.

State Police had conducted dive searches in the river around the village, and continue to undertake periodic airboat checks and shoreline inspections, Trooper Mark Cepiel said.

Kroup has brown hair and brown eyes. Foul play is not suspected, Tanchak said. Those with information about her disappearance should call police at 518-237-3341.
