UPDATE:  4/27/13 – John’s step-daughter, Leigh Allen stated that John was found dead in Tennessee on Friday. Authorities said that his car was found wrecked off a road in Roan Mountain State Park, just across the North Carolina-Tennessee border. Greene’s body was found near the car.
Police did not suspect foul play.

Previous story:  John Greene, 65, is missing from Charlotte, North Carolina.  He was last seen off Carmel Road.  Surveillance video also shows him pumping gas at Walmart in Spruce Pine on Friday around 10:30 a.m.

Family members say Greene has ties to Avery, Buncombe, Mitchell and Moore counties (especially Pinehurst), and to the Raleigh area. They also say he has been without his heart medication for nearly a week.

CMPD says Greene is 6 feet 1 and 220 pounds, with hazel eyes and gray hair. He was driving a 2008 GMC Yukon with N.C. license tags NXF-3135.
