Misti Whitfield: Missing from Tampa Found

UPDATE:  10/30/14 – Misti’s remains have been found near the location where she went missing in Nautical Marine, in Tampa.   Tampa Police Department detectives discovered the remains of a body on Oct. 24, later positively identified as Misti, her her parents told the Plant City Times & Observer. No cause of death has been released.

A memorial for Misti will be on Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. in McCall Park in Plant City.


Previous story:  Misti Whitfield, 35, from Tampa, Fla. has been missing since May, 2013. Whitfield was last seen at an intersection in the Tampa area. Her parents said that she has disappeared before but that she would always contact her family to tell them where she was, reported WTSP.

Sparkman told the station he is still pursuing leads in the case and that he is offering a $25,000 reward.

  1. Thank you so much for covering my friend's story. Please don't take this the wrong way, because her family needs all the help they can get. But, her name is Misti, not Misty. You never know, that tiny detail could make a big difference. Thanks again for taking the time to put her story out there.
