Austin Hudson Lapore: Missing University of Chicago student Found

The family have confirmed the body belongs to Austin.  Authorities received a call about a body in Lake Michigan on the South Side on Wednesday and a family spokesman said they believe it is a 20-year-old University of Chicago student missing since last week.

“The father thinks it’s him,” said Andrew Holmes, a spokesman for the family of Austin Hudson-Lapore who disappeared near the lakefront last Wednesday. “The fisherman (who spotted the body) said this white Caucasian male resembles this young man.”

Austin Hudson-Lapore, 20, a junior biochemistry student at the University of Chicago

Austin left the apartment he shared with a roommate on the 5300 block of South Kimbark Avenue in Chicago after 8:30 p.m.

The family believes he walked to the lakefront to look at the storm.  He left behind his cell phone and wallet so they wouldn’t get wet.

The Chicago Policer Dept. is going to search and drag the area around Promontory Point on Lake Michigan in case a wave during the storm swept Austin into the water. 

Austin is 5’7″ tall, 110 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes and fair complexion.  He was wearing blue jeans and black sneakers.
