Anarae Schunk: University student missing from Minnesota Found

UPDATE 10/2/13 –   The Hennepin County medical examiner’s office confirmed  that a body found in a ditch on Monday belongs to Anarae.

UPDATE: The  Burnsville police stated on  Saturday they uncovered evidence  “that Anarae Schunk may have been the victim of a homicide.”

They are not saying anymore than that. On missing Schunk’s Facebook page the family posted police had “confirmed the worst, Anarae is no longer with us.”


Previous story:  Authorities are asking for the public’s help finding a 1983 4-door Buick LeSabre with Minnesota plates 662-EWR.

Also missing is Anarae Schunk, a University of Minnesota student who may be connected in the case.  She was last seen on September 22.  Surveillance outside Nina’s Grill shows that Anarae was with Shavelle Oscar Chavez-Nelson the owner of the missing Buick.  Chavez-Nelson was arrested by Rosemount police as a suspect in the homicide of Palagor Jobi, 23, whose body was found outside the bar on Sunday.

The family have stated that Anarae was last seen on Sat. Sept 21 at noon at Caribou Coffee on Cliff Rd and Hwy 13, in Burnsville, Mn, and have set up a Facebook page to help find her.

Anarae is 5’9″ tall and 165 pounds with brown hair.  She was wearing a White U of MN, zip up sweatshirt, with jeans. She had a camouflage backpack. She attends the University of MN, Twin Cites Campus, and works at Don Pablo’s Restaurant in Richfield.
