James “Jamie” Peters: Missing from El Cajon since 1988

Another post from Jamie’s sister from 2012:

“My brother, James (Jamie) Peters went missing on September 3, 1988. I was only 8 years old at the time. He has been gone for almost 24 years now. My mom and I still think about Jamie every single day. I am asking for your help to find my brother. I am hoping that maybe so much time has gone by that someone will have the courage to come forward and speak. Someone out there has to know what happened. When Jamie went missing he was wearing jeans, a dark shirt and a red plaid flannel. The last person to see my brother was his roommate, Salvador Richard (Ricky) Ruiz. He was last seen leaving the apartment they shared on Peach Street in El Cajon, CA. Jamie has blonde hair and hazel eyes. At the time of his disappearance he was 19 years old, 5’10”, and 140 pounds. He would be turning 43 years old on April 20th.

In December 1988, 3 months after he disappeared, we found his vw beetle stripped with a swastika carved in it’s hood on Mussey Grade Road in Ramona, CA. After that, the case went cold. No leads, no body, no answers. I have tried contacting the El Cajon Police Department many times for answers and for help but they say they can’t talk to me about the case because it is still considered to be an open case.”

From his sister:

“Jamie disappeared on September 3, 1988 never to be seen again. In December of 1988 his VW beetle was found stripped completely with a swastika carved into the hood. It was found on Mussey Grade Road in Ramona, CA. Since then we have found no leads in my brother’s case. When he went missing he was wearing jeans, a dark shirt, and a red plaid flannel. He has blond hair, hazel eyes. At the time of his disappearance he was 19 years old, 5’10”, and 140 pounds. He was last seen leaving his apartment on Peach Street in El Cajon, CA by his roommate Richard (Ricky) Ruiz.

Please help if you have any information…

Sincerely,
Loving Sister of Jamie Peters”

The sister of Jamie was told by her mother that the police did question Ricky Ruiz  while Ricky was in jail for another crime.  Ricky was in jail less than 2 months for beating his new roommate over the head with a baseball bat.
