UPDATE: 7/25/15 – Michael and Amy Streko were apprehended in Port Jervis, New York on Friday, Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano announced in a news release. Everett was with his parents and was fine. Both parents have been charged with third-degree custodial interference.
Original story: The police are searching for Everett Streko, 8, that was last seen around 10:30 p.m. on July 16 at the home of his grandmother in Green Brook. The grandmother also found Everett’s mother, Amy Streko, 32, missing, too. All of her personal belongings were gone.
Authorities state that Everett’s father, Michael Streko, 34 was seen in the neighborhood around 1 a.m. on July 17. moving out of his home on W. Sylvania Avenue in Neptune City. Streko posted on social media that he was going to put bumper stickers on his RV and post his life as a “digit” nomad on streko.com. It is not know if Streko’s plan was to take his son and wife with him. Michael posted on his site: “So we have started a new project via Streko Media… This is a one of a kind RV marketing company that will be launching July 1st, until then we can only say thanks to those that have helped us out.”
A court order stipulates that the boy was to be in the custody of his grandmother and not the parents, but authorities believe Amy and possible Michael, too have taken the boy.
Everett may be traveling in a gray 4-door Ford Focus with the boy’s biological father, Michael Streko, 34, and Amy, said New Jersey Officials. Michael was last seen by neighbors moving out of his West Sylvania Avenue home in Neptune City around 1 a.m. July 17.
Everett Streko is described as about 4 feet tall and 60 pounds, with green eyes, brown hair and fair skin.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, Amy Streko drives a 2007 gray four-door Ford Focus with New Jersey registration Y96-FHN. Michael Streko drives a 1997 white and blue Winnebago with New Jersey registration X72-FNK.
