Senior wandered away from picnic in Watkins Park Found

UPDATE 10/12/15 – A body was found during a search on Sunday.  Maryland-National Capitol Park Police said that they found a body matching Phipps’ description in a soybean field near 300-acre Watkins Regional Park.  He was found about 180 yards away from where he was last seen. 

Original story:  Lubin Phipps, 80, was last seen around 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept 18, 2015.  He was at a senior picnic at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. He had gone to the restroom and then went missing.

Phipps has dementia and may be confused or distressed.  He was wearing a beige colored long sleeve shirt and tan pants and sandals. 

He is no longer in Watkins Park state the police but he may have wandered to Mitchelville, Bowie or Upper Marlboro.
