Wendell Elton Lankford from New Caney, Texas went missing in Coldspring in San Jacinto County along the Trinity River on Sept. 6, 2008.  He was trying to get his boat to higher ground before Hurricane Ike.  He has not been seen or heard from since.

According to a source, right after his disappearance his wife and kids moved away from the area,  Wendell’s wife refused to cooperate with any of the family or answer any questions about what happened even though she was there with their children the day that Wendell went missing.  The children were also told not to talk about it.

Wendall has a tattoo on his forearm of a black outline of roses and goes by the nickname of Buddy or Elton.

There was over 400 missing after Hurricane Ike, and most were from the Bolivar Pennisula, but by Feb. 2009 the number had dropped to nine, that have never been found.
