Body of former councilman found in Myrtle Beach

The body of Tim Buckley, 51,  who went missing on Sept. 29 has been found in South Carolina.  The police were were called to the location after someone found bones off of Rodeo Drive, near U.S. 501. The remains were found about 10 miles from where Buckley was last seen near Springmaid Resort, heading to his camper.  Buckley was a former councilman and ex police officer in Myrtle Beach.

The Horry County Police Department told Myrtle Beach Online that the case is being handled as a homicide.

According to Riverhead Local,  Buckley was appointed to the Riverhead Police Department in November 1988 and retired in August 2007.   to run for a seat on the Riverhead Town Board that November. Buckley won a seat on the Riverbed Town Board and resigned from the post in February 2009.
