Mark Bakotic

UPDATE:  Mark Bakotic’s body has been found and positively identified by the coroner’s office.  He was was found in the Mississippi River near the Riverwalk outlet mall July 22. His family received DNA confirmation of the identity of the body on Sept. 29, according to NOLA.com.  The manner and cause of death have not been confirmed.

Man missing from New Orleans night club; two suspects sought

Mark Bakotic is missing from New Orleans, Louisiana.  Bakotic, 25, was last seen on Dec. 30, 2016 at the Republic Night Club in the 800 block of South Peters Street in the Warehouse District around 11 p.m.  He has not been seen since.

Karima Peters

 

Karima Peters, 34, and Brittany Pinera, 31, were seen leaving a store shortly after Bakotic’s credit cards were used on Dec. 30, reports NOLO news.  Authorities believe they tried to use Bakotic’s credit cards.  Surveillance video shows them at the Magnolia Discount on N. Claiborne Ave at 2:40 a.m. and leaving in a black Acura.

Karima Peters

Interviews with Bakotic’s friends say that he left the club after taking a narcotic.  Investigators want to speak with Peters and Pinera, the NOPD said, and considered them persons of interest in Bakotic’s missing case.
