Do you know this woman who says she is a mermaid named Joanna?

UPDATE 4/6/17 –  She has been identified as a 33-year-from Arlington, Virginia.  Her name is not being released at this time.  Police believe she may be a victim of a crime.  They spoke with a relative that said that the woman traveled to Fresno for a visit and to see if it was an area she would like to move to.  She will be reunited with her family.

Original Story:  The police are asking social media if they know who this woman is that says she is a mermaid named, Joanna.  The woman in the photos was  found walking near Table Mountain with just a black sports bra on when she was stopped by the Police Dept.  She was walking on Millerton Road near the intersection of Millerton and Brighton Crest Drive, across from the Eagle Spring Golf & Country Club in Fresno, Calif. on April 4, 2017, when the police stopped her, and she told them that she was a mermaid named “Joanna,” and she had just come out of the water.   The police tried to get more information from her, but she did not have any answers, and she mostly told them she didn’t know. The Fresno police have reached out to the community through social media to see if anyone knows who she is.

When she was found, police said the woman’s hair was wet, she was wearing only a black sports bra, reports ABC 10. Police described the woman as white and/or Hispanic with brown hair and brown eyes. She stands about 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds and she has webbed toes on both feet.

Those with any information related to the woman can call police at 559-621-2455 or Fresno Police at Tips  (559)600-3111
