8-year-old missing in Pittsburgh after mom loses her on bus

UPDATE:  Isabelll has been found. Reporter Aaron Martin said that even though the girl’s mother reported her missing, she was actually on the bus with her grandmother.

Isabel Purcell, 8, was reported missing April 13, 2017 after her mother realized she did not get off the bus with her.  The police state the mother told them they were waiting at a Wood Street T station in downtown Pittsburgh around 8 a.m. and got on the bus.  Later, she got off the bus in Carrick and realized the child was not with her.

Isabell is 4′ 11″, and 80 lbs. with brownish-blonde hair. She was last seen wearing a blue-hooded sweatshirt and grey sweat pants. There is no photo at this time and will be added once we get one.

Police checked her home in Shaler and did not find her.  Port Authority police are checking surveillance video.

  1. This is such a weird story. Did the woman have the child with her on the bus or what? The way it’s worded it seems that the last time she consciously notices the child was before they boarded the bus.
